MMEG BOARD EXECUTIVE (fy24)

MADELEINE DE KOCK (President)

Madeleine became president of MMEG in 2021, and is serving ex officio for FY24. She has been actively involved with MMEG since 2008. Madeleine has served as vice president and worked on fundraising, program advisory, marketing/branding, and communications. While steering the US-Canada program, she helped create a fully online application format. She has a nursing background, specializing in community health.

VESNA DE LA BORDE (VICE PRESIDENT)

Vesna first joined the MMEG Board in 2016. Following two terms as Board Secretary, she now serves as Vice President and sits on the Program Advisory Committee. Vesna’s involvement with MMEG started in 2007 on the US-Canada Selection Committee, which she chaired from 2008 to 2011. She has a background in translation, political science and international relations.

COLIN WARREN (TREASURER)

Colin is a long-time supporter of women’s education and has been a MMEG donor for many years. As treasurer during 2013-19, he applied his experience in finance gained from his career with the World Bank Group. Colin re-joined the Board in 2021 and continues to serve as treasurer, ex officio.

MARINA PRIMORAC (SECRETARY)

Marina joined MMEG’s US-Canada Selection Committee in 2020 and the Board in 2021. She works on MMEG’s Annual Report, website, and other communications. Marina was managing editor of the IMF’s Finance & Development magazine and advised the IMF’s philanthropic program.

MERUNISHA AHMID

Merunisha joined the MMEG Board in 2021. She works on MMEG’s fundraising and grantee impact. Merunisha worked in international development at the International Finance Corporation, where she led the Insurance Services Group and Corporate Citizenship Facility and worked on Advisory Services in Africa.

Priscilla Annamanthodo 

Priscilla joined the MMEG board in 2022. She serves on the Nominating and Program Advisory committees and works on grantee impact. Trained as a lawyer, Priscilla devoted her career to the non-profit sector, working on diversity issues and local economic development.

laura burakreis

Laura Burakreis joined the MMEG Board in 2022. She works on MMEG’s finance and investments, volunteer relations, and grantee impact. Laura is experienced in international investing and financial sector development.

Vivian Familiar

Vivian joined the Board in 2020, having served on LAC Selection Committee since that program’s pilot launch in 2012. She sits on the Program Advisory and Nominating committees. Vivian is an economist with a background in corporate banking and worked for Citibank Mexico.

PRISCILLA R. LINN

Priscilla has been involved with MMEG since 1993, serving as Board president from 1996 to 2001. She spearheads the MMEG TALKS series, is responsible for grant writing, and manages contacts with recent grantees and the World Bank Group Family Network’s Worldwide outreach program. Priscilla was an exhibition developer and curator, focusing on the role of women in development and history.

Laura MacInnis

Laura joined the MMEG Board in 2022. She produces MMEG’s newsletter, works on grantee impact studies and the Annual Report, and is MMEG’s communications liaison with the World Bank Group. A former journalist, Laura manages media relations at the Global Environment Facility.

GRACE MUKUPA

Grace joined MMEG’s South Africa Selection Committee in 2019, and the Board in 2021. She serves on the Program Advisory Committee and identifies potential donors, She has 15 years of experience in international development, with a background in global gender studies.

Robin SandenburgH

Robin joined the Board in 2022. She is the Board’s Fair liaison, serves on the Nominating Committee, and works on donor outreach. During her career with the International Finance Corporation (IFC)—in Egypt, India, Turkey, and Zimbabwe—she managed teams that assessed the environmental and social development impact of IFC investments.

MARILOU UY

Marilou joined MMEG’s Board in 2022. She works on MMEG’s finance and investments, donor outreach, and grant writing. She is a senior fellow at the Global Policy Development Center and was previously Director of the G-24 Secretariat.

Chiaki Yamamoto

Chiaki joined the Board in 2022. She manages the grantee database and helps research potential MMEG TALKS. She works on evaluation of development projects at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), following a career in international development at the World Bank and International Finance Corporation,

Goran Zaric

Goran joined the Board in 2023. He is MMEG’s liaison with the World Bank Group’s Community Connections Campaign (CCC) and with the World Bank Group at large.  He has worked in many departments at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and is currently the manager of IFC’s reporting and analytics team, as well as serving as an Advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Jette Renneberg Elkjaer

OPERATIONAL COORDINATOR

Jette joined the MMEG team in 2019, organizing the International Arts & Crafts Fair and serving on the US-Canada Selection Committee, which she co-chaired from 2020. She assumed the coordinator position in 2022. Jette has worked as an economist in Denmark and China and as Danish Cultural Attaché to the United States.

Marta González de la Peña Royo

COMMUNICATIONS & SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

Marta has led MMEG’s social media activities since joining the Board in 2018, taking advantage of her professional photography background. She resigned from the Board in May 2022 to take on the position of Communications and Social Media Coordinator.
