REIKO NIIMI (PRESIDENT)

Reiko became President in FY18, after serving as Secretary to the Board and the Program Advisory Committee from 2016-2017. She had previously been co-chair of the US-Canada Selection Committee. Reiko has a background in international relations and public health, and worked in the United Nations for different agencies around the world.

MADELEINE DE KOCK (VICE PRESIDENT)

For more than ten years, Madeleine has been actively involved with MMEG. While steering the US/Canada program she helped create a fully online application format. For the past three years, the work on the Board was comprised of fundraising, program advisory, marketing/branding and communications. She has a nursing background, specializing in community health.

COLIN WARREN (TREASURER)

Colin is a long-time supporter of women’s education and joined the MMEG board in 2013. As treasurer, he applies the experience in finance gained from a 35 year career with the World Bank Group.

VESNA DE LA BORDE (SECRETARY)

Vesna currently serves as Secretary to the Board and sits on the Program Advisory Committee. Her involvement with MMEG started in 2007 in the US-Canada Selection Committee, which she chaired from 2008 to 2011. Vesna has a background in translation, political science and international relations. She has worked as a translator/editor for various non-profits, and governmental and international organizations in Europe, Africa and the United States.

ANA CECILIA SAVASTANO

Ana Cecilia joined MMEG Board in 2017. She has 25 years experience arranging and overseeing sustainable and social responsible investments in Latin America at bellwether impact investing lenders International Finance Corporation and the Inter-American Investment Corporation, as well as in the private sector.

ANTHEA LEVY

Anthea serves on the Nomination Committee which nominates people for the board and for officers' positions on the board.  Her experience working in preventive health in rural Mexico brings first hand experience to MMEG of women struggling to provide for their households and to make a difference in their communities.

BRIGID HOLLERAN

Brigid was able to extend her commitment to development and women's issues beyond her two-decade plus tenure at  IFC in the World Bank Group by joining the MMEG board in 2016.  On the board, she focuses on donor relations, writing and editing.

BRINDA dayal PRAKASH

Brinda joined the Board in 2017. She has over 17 years of a professional background in finance and technology that has been an asset to the Board’s Finance and Investment Committee. She worked with Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing before returning to Washington DC in 2016, has been a consultant in PWC and Accenture, and has been active in the WBFN Investment Club.

Ledda Macera

Ledda joined the Board in 2015 after serving on the Latin America Selection Committee when the program was in its pilot phase. She has been a consultant on social development and governance practices for the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. She has a background in Latin American studies, public health and social psychology.

Marta González de la Peña Royo

Marta leads MMEG activities on social media since joining the Board in 2018. Her professional background in photography has benefited MMEG since her arrival in Washington DC, even as she continues to participate in photography exhibitions. She is also a teacher of the Spanish language.
